It all began with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion for supporting neurodivergent people. As a small business, we pride ourselves on personal attention and dedication to every detail. Our approach is rooted in quality service provision and integrity, ensuring that everything we do reflects our commitment to person centered best practice.

Who is Beyond Recipes for?

This new innovative program has been designed in consultation with, and for, neurodivergent young adults (15-17) and adults ages 18 and over. Our multidisciplinary team consists of experienced professionals with knowledge of Neurodivergence, Disability, and lived experience caring for Neurodivergent family members.

How long does the program run?

Whilst the program content is based on a 10 week structure, participants can attend for as many sessions as they wish. There are no lock in contracts. Just let us know a week in advance if you no longer want to attend on a regular basis.

Can I bring my own support worker?

 Yes. Initially your own support worker is welcome to support you become comfortable in the kitchen. However, they will be required to follow the directions of the Beyond Recipes team members.

Does it run through school holidays?

A Young Adult holiday program is planned for June/July. 

18+ mid semester program is planned  for last 2 weeks in July.

Summer-time holiday programs will be available depending on demand.

Is there a maximum group size?

 Yes. Groups will be capped at 3 participants for every facilitator. The maximum number of participants in any given session will be limited to 6 participants and 2 facilitators.

What to expect

Sessions are conducted in a commercial kitchen with likeminded people. Plenty of time to chat and enjoy your tasty creations. Build your independence as you progress through sessions including optional periodic 1:1 in-home sessions to help you use your new skills at home. Session plans include learning intentions and success criteria. 10 week overview available in advance.

What is included?

Qualified and skilled facilitators will support you every step of the way.

Utensils, tools and equipment including Apron.

Raw ingredients will be purchased in advance and available during the session. Shopping for some ingredients may be part of the session when those skills are the focus.

A recipe book containing all the recipes you have made.

Is Beyond Recipes a registered NDIS provider?

No. Beyond Recipes is not a registred NDIS provider.

Can I use my NDIS plan to pay for sessions?

Your NDIS Plan may cover the cost of the session utlising capacity building funds such as Increased Social and Community Participation, Improve Daily Living.  However please check with your LAC or Plan Manager to check alignment with your NDIS plan categories and goals prior to commencing.

If your plan doesn't cover the cost of sessions, a fee for service option is available. 

I dont have an NDIS Plan. Can I still attend sessions?

Yes! Anyone can attend our sessions regardless of whether or not they intend to pay for sessions as a 'fee for service' private participant, or as an NDIS participant.

Do your workers have an NDIS worker Screening Check?

Yes. Even though we are not a registered NDIS provider, our program facilitators have been through the NDIS Worker Screening Check process. 

Do your workers have working with children checks?

Yes! All our team have current working with children checks. 

Do I need a diagnosis to attend this program?

No. A formal diagnosis is not necessary. Identifying as neurodivergent is all that is required.
